What we build next will be shaped by those who choose to be part of it
As healthcare continues to evolve, strong nursing leadership has never been more important. The Bonnie Boezeman AO Leadership in Nursing Scholarship invests in exceptional female nurses with the vision, commitment and potential to shape the future of healthcare.
By removing barriers to postgraduate study, the scholarship empowers nurses to build the skills, confidence and influence needed to lead beyond the bedside, improving healthcare delivery, strengthening teams and creating lasting benefits for patients and communities.
Delivered in partnership with Chief Executive Women (CEW) and Bonnie Boezeman AO, the scholarship reflects our shared commitment to advancing women in leadership and fostering the next generation of healthcare changemakers.
Your support will help us award additional scholarships for women to study the Master of Healthcare Leadership at Southern Cross University each year, enabling more outstanding nurses to realise their leadership potential and make a meaningful contribution to the future of healthcare in Australia.
The women who are transforming care
Bonnie Boezeman AO
"I underwent a number of health complications during which time I met an incredible array of nurses and to me, they were as impressive as the CEO of a corporation. This led to the idea of a nursing scholarship, to give talented women the opportunity to advance their education and develop their leadership potential"
Lieutenant Colonel Kylie Hasse
"Often as a nurse within the Australian Army you have little understanding about where your merits sit amongst our civilian counterparts. It’s an honour to be part of a network focused on supporting nurses to build and achieve their leadership potential"
Nikki Harrison
"Pursuing a Master of Healthcare Leadership has been a long-standing goal of mine, but financial barriers have made it challenging. This scholarship represents an incredible opportunity to grow, learn, and lead with purpose.”
Sophie Daniel
"I am honoured and humbled to receive this scholarship. Being in a leadership position, I recognise the importance of supporting, encouraging and equipping our nurses with the knowledge, skills and capabilities to provide safe and quality health care for all"
