Lavendi’s Story

When Lavendi was awarded a student scholarship, she knew it would relieve financial strain. What she didn’t expect was how deeply it would influence the practitioner — and the person — she was becoming.

The scholarship enabled Lavendi to complete a unique clinical placement in Tasmania, an opportunity that would have been entirely out of reach without donor support. During this placement, she worked closely with Herbalists Without Borders, providing hands-on care to vulnerable community members, volunteering at community clinics, and offering herbal first aid.

Immersed in a landscape rich with medicinal plants she had never encountered before, Lavendi deepened her practical understanding of herbal medicine, refined her medicine-making skills, and learned directly from community health leaders.

This experience helped shape her professional direction. Lavendi now sees her future grounded in service, education, and accessible naturopathic care — something that simply would not have been possible without the support of scholarship donors.
